Neighborly®: Founders of VetFran

The Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative (VetFran Program) was established by Don Dwyer, Sr.—founder of Neighborly, formerly Dwyer Group—soon after the Gulf War ended in 1991. The VetFran program is a voluntary effort of International Franchise Association (IFA) member companies to encourage franchise ownership by offering financial incentives to honorably discharged veterans.

Since its inception, the VetFran programs have had the following effects:

  • Neighborly through itsfranchise brands has awarded more than $2.4 million in discounts to 374 veteran franchise owners.
  • More than 500 franchisors currently participate in the program.
